ATTENTION: BLOGGER!

PLEASE NOTE THAT I HAVE CHANGED MY EMAIL ADDRESS ON MY PROFILE PAGE, YET YOU CONTINUE TO SEND COMMENTS TO MY OLD ONE.

THERE IS NO LONGER A WAY TO CONTACT YOU AND RECEIVE A PERSONAL RESPONSE. EVERY ATTEMPT TO DO SO HAS SIMPLY BROUGHT FORTH A NEW FLURRY OF SUGGESTED LINKS, NONE OF WHICH ADDRESSES THIS PROBLEM. THE SCREEN THAT FORMERLY ALLOWED US TO REPORT A BUG OR PROBLEM IN DETAIL NO LONGER DOES SO.

I WOULD LIKE TO CANCEL MY FORMER EMAIL ADDRESS BUT WANT TO CONTINUE TO RECEIVE NOTIFICATION OF COMMENTS TO THIS BLOG.

I SINCERELY HOPE YOU ARE NOT BOTS, AND THAT SOMEBODY WILL READ THIS AND ADDRESS THE PROBLEM. IF YOU ARE BOTS, THEN I AM CLEARLY SCREWED.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.

OPTIMISTICALLY YOURS,
HEART IN SAN FRANCISCO

Are you saying that you actually went to your blog settings, went to the "Comments" part of settings and at the very bottom, you typed in your new e-mail address in the box labeled "Comment Notification Address" and you are still getting comments to your old e-mail?

If so, that's bizarre. More bizarre than even Michael Jackson.

Maybe we should all post your request for help on our blogs and someone from Blogger will stumble upon it. Or we could do a mass emailing to some Google email address!

hmmm, this sounds like a problem for super blogger. Now, if only he existed...

Dan,

Yes, that's exactly what I'm saying. Apparently once you've given them an e-mail address, it's cast in stone and they never read your profile again.

In desperation I created a Google alert, typing in my problem. I got back a link to verify it, and now they will be sending me Alerts About This Topic. (To my new address.) Akkkkkkk!!

I'm frustrated.

Christina,

I agree with you. This is maddening, but MJ is in a class by himself.

Michael,

I love your idea, but do you think anyone at Blogger actually reads ANY of our blogs? A lot of people change e-mail addresses. This should not be a major problem.

Olives,

He doesn't. I'm sure I've tried every available means to contact them, including Googling addresses for Google. They sent me back to the list of so-called Help links.

Round up the usual suspects.

Mist,

Don't worry. They obviously can't find their own butts. Bot But.

Melanie,

I'm sure they're overloaded, but I agree with your implication. If they had competition, they might try harder. I don't want to be ungrateful; I love having a blog and reading all of yours. But they should be available for problems the links don't address.

Odat,

Me frustrated? Gee, you think? I just upgraded to dsl and really don't want to pay for both accounts every month. Why can't they just play nice?

Urchin,

That system worked fine for the boy next door and me when we both had measles. We put a tin can on a clothesline between our bedroom windows and passed notes back and forth.

We could as easily have just talked, but we had technology!!

Hmm, I changed my email and changed it in settings (as Dan describes) and it worked. But that was a while ago. What a drag that yours didn't switch!

heartinsanfrancisco said...

I did that and assumed it would work. Until recently, it was also possible to get a personal response to a problem, but they've done away with that privilege, all of which tells me that there's no one at the switch.
We're on automatic pilot now.

In fact, I just got notified at the old address that you had commented. %$##@&*@#!!!

Hey Y'all, watch this!!

Blogger changed my e-mail address and is even using it. There IS somebody in the cockpit. Living and breathing. READING, even. Yesssss!!!

I'm psyched.

Thought you'd like to know. Thanks for all your support, suggestions and kind wishes.
