Blindsided Yet Again

Things just get better and better for Sandra Bullock. Now rumors have surfaced that one of Jesse James' mistresses - I'm not sure which one because I am mathematically challenged over 1,000 - was pregnant with his child within weeks of his marriage to the Academy Award winning actress.

James' lawyer claims that his client is a "broken man." "This whole thing has destroyed Jesse's entire universe," he said. "Right now, he's a broken man." This would seem to imply that an arbitrary universe caused these events to happen to a passive, helpless James. What a grotesque attempt at damage control! Adultery doesn't just happen -- you have to take off your clothes first. He is portrayed as desperate to save his marriage and allegedly told Bullock that he would get help “like Tiger" because he is still in love with her. Does he think that broaching the "T" word somehow elevates his behavior? Safety in numbers maybe? I'm sure that he and his role model will be a great comfort to each other in dick rehab.

"The single most important thing to Mr. James and the children is that the marriage somehow survive," his lawyer declared. He even said it with a straight face, which is quite impressive. He probably gets a few million extra for that.

When all else fails, round up the usual suspects. The Oscar Curse. Give me a break. Meryl Streep has won so many times that she probably has an entire wing of her house consecrated to her statues, and has been married to the same man for 89 zillion years. I'm guessing the dude does not cheat.

How do talented, beautiful women get involved with such creeps? "Dick rehab." I like that.

seems to me if his marriage was so important to him, he wouldn't have had sex with so many other women in the first place. my guess is that he wasn't thinking of his marriage when he was getting busy with all of those other women.

I expect the only thing he is sorry about is being caught - and so publicly.

Wonderful the excuses and mitigating circumstances men dream up when they're caught out sleeping around. My universe has been destroyed, desperate to save my marriage blah blah. Translated as, I just had to seduce yet another woman, I hoped I wouldn't get found out. Utterly selfish.

You express it here exactly as I did in a conversation with hubby yesterday. If Jesse James loved his wife so much when did this all important love begin? When he married her, when she stood by him and helped him in his custody battle, or when he got caught with his pants down in the media? Huh. His ego ran is life along with his dick, so are they both going to be in rehab?

Ok, number one - I don't care what this loser is doing. There is no number two... I probably didn't need to number this list.

I hope she didn't have his name tattooed on her ass like most biker chicks do when they become someones property.

You think on it for a minute Hearts...his is a typical biker attitude and his outlaw (style but expensive) bikes are what started him on the road to the red carpet.

Ol' Tiger and Jesse and all the rest of the adulterous people can rehab themselves till their genitalia falls off but history never changes does it? Their kids will always know what dogs their parents were.

What happened to the ability in humanity to think things through considering most every side of every situation?

A broken man? Good. Maybe he'll remember that the next time he wants to screw around. But I hope he's no longer married to Sandra Bullock when that happens.

Hey there! Found you via the interview on Clouds and Silvery Linings via Eternally Distracted via a comment left on my blog!

That's a whole lotta vias.

Still, I'm very happy to have landed here and have enjoyed reading your posts so far. Naturally the first one I read was about Lewis, which broke my heart even as I appreciated how beautifully you wrote it.

I love that you can speak intelligently about just about anything that catches your attention. Brava!

I'm going to break my own rule about leaving my old unused google profile here because you don't have Name/URL enabled (have a heart, please enable it!) because it would bother me way too much to leave without passing on my regards this morning.

Happy Easter :)

They are ALWAYS sorry....after they get caught.

The man is a tool and needs more than dick rehab, he needs a massive ego removal operation.

. . .you have to take your clothes off first. Indded, a choice made over and over and over again.

And why is it they none of them think they won't get caught? Rhetorical. I know. Very little thinking is in play.

Who knows? Noblesse oblige? It's always sad.

It's not even as if the guy had a real soul connection with any of his women which might have even slightly justified it - they were all just notches on his belt.

In these cases, the remorse is always occasioned by being busted. Otherwise, it's monkey business as usual.

I intended a double meaning when I used the term "dick rehab," because he both has one and IS one.

Point taken. Numbering systems totally unnecessary.

I do try to consider every side before condemning someone, and while I generally disapprove of adultery and believe that one relationship should be ended before another begins, there are sometimes mitigating circumstances, ie the deep soul connection I mentioned in earlier comment. (Spencer Tracy and Katharine Hepburn come to mind here.) But this guy is just a flagrant scumbag and by all accounts, Sandra Bullock is a very good person, as is Elin Woods, probably.

He's an ass, and doubtless broken in ways no amount of therapy can reach.

Sometimes I'm inspired. :)

Thank you for your visit and very kind words.

If I'm correct about what Name/url enabled is, it is available when ones blog is on Wordpress but not on Blogger, where this one resides. If I'm wrong, please advise and I'll try to fix it.

He just sounds like another lowlife to me but we've all made mistakes like Sandra's at one time or another. I know I have.

I wonder how one could get an ego removal - start with a garden variety lobotomy, I guess.

I'm sure that some people will attempt to blame it on his wife's greater success, as if that justifies treating her so shabbily. And they never think they'll get caught (if they think at all) because they are too smart or justified or something.

sounds like SOMEONE needs '30 Days' -- and I do believe Sandra has already served

Laura Lee,

I hope she has served him with divorce papers and also visited her doctor.

Heart - re name/url, I think you just have to click Anyone rather than Registered Users on the comments settings.

I hope she kicks this scumbag to the curb! It's a tad late to be professing your love for your wife.

I thought I had enabled comments by anyone, but when I checked it was only for registered users including anonymous ones. I was getting a lot of pornographic spam on a dozen very old posts at a time and it was a nuisance to go back and eliminate them. I have now changed the setting (until that starts happening again.)

You think? Yet another case of too little, too late.

The man is a slimeball and deserves to be someone's prison bitch for a while.

He can't be in love with Sandra; he has no concept of what love is.

Pardon me while I throw up.

I think Jesse is in the 'please feel sorry for me' stage of grief. "I know I fucked up royally (many, many, many, many times) but I feel real bad about it now. Aw, c'mon, honey. It's not entirely my fault. I mean, you were off on those film shoots all the time."

I tried that excuse once (except for the film shoots part). Doesn't work for shit.

1,000, you say. Does that beat both Tiger and Wilt Chamberlain? I'm keeping score.

I do distinguish between falling deeply in love with someone who is not ones spouse, ie Hepburn and Tracy, and screwing around with both hands. Feelings can't be controlled although behavior can, but just racking up numbers, no pun intended, is 17 kinds of stupid and creepy.

I was a domestic violence counselor. He is clearly abusive whether or not he hit her, and the stages of remorse are the same. I hope Ms. Bullock holds firm to her resolve not to give him another chance because that is usually an invitation to hurt her again.
