Shameless Begging

Hey, guess what! I did an interview on BlogInterviewer.com. If anyone wants to read it, here is the link.

Today I got a letter from them suggesting that I link to their website, which I am happy to do. And it seems they offer prizes for the blogs that get the most votes every month.

My daughter, Ellen, is involved with Animalkind, a cat rescue service in Hudson, New York, which always needs money, so that is how I would spend my glorious winnings, if any.

One of the questions in the interview asked for urls of other blogs I visit. I gave them several of yours, so you may be hearing from them soon, too.

Thanks, everybody!

Don't worry...we have contests every month so you can win next month.

Hi Mike!

Wow. I just posted that. So once one does an interview, it can be voted on forever? Cool.

Does one vote simply by leaving a comment? It's a bit unclear to this luddite.

You do a great service, and I have found many other blogs I liked through your interviews.

Thanks for posting mine.

Mike said...

You're welcome for posting yours.

It's nice to hear that other bloggers are using bloginterviewer to find other similar blogs...hopefully it will help build on the community.

You vote by clicking the "Thumbs up" logo. It's near the title of your blog.

Also, the votes reset every month so newbies like yourself have a chance to win.

If you have any questions feel free to leave a comment.

Mike,

Thank you for that info, just in case anyone wants to do so.

What happens if they click the thumbs down link? Does that cancel out a vote? (Kidding. Sort of.)

Ian Lidster said...

I will, with the greatest joy, vote for your blog even though I am competing with you in the same realm.
Problem is, the icon doesn't seem to be linked to the URL.

Mermaid Melanie said...

I voted for your blog! and that is just cute overload... thanks for making me smile.

the walking man said...

For five dollars I will vote Chicago style and vote ten or twenty times using dead blog names.

Peace

mark

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Ian,

Oh, my, I didn't know. I have no idea how long blogs stay in competition with each other, or how to find those that are not the most recently added ones.

But if we vote for each other, that will be nice. I'll find you, now that I know you're in there.

Melanie,

Thank you for the vote, and for making me smile back!!

Mark,

I can't afford your services, but thank you for offering.

I think they vote for president like that in Florida, too.

Mike said...

None of the blogs are "dead". Each month everyone is still in the competition, but the votes reset.

A thumbs down vote just shows that someone doesn't like your blog by adding to the total vote count, but it doesn't affect your ratings. If it did, then you'd have people in competition voting other blogs down.

Good luck!

thailandchani said...

Very interesting! Perhaps everyone can vote for you on the 1st of the month... on Sunday upcoming. We can all direct others to vote for you on our blogs, too. You know, all it would take is a little link.

Peace,

Mike,

Wow. You are like a genie in a bottle. Thanks for answering my questions.

It would be great if one could search out a particular blog on your main page, like in Google.

In trying to figure out how to do that, I discovered several great blogs, a fine way to expand one's online community.

Chani,

Yours is one of the blogs I suggested to Mike, who has answered so many questions here today, so I'm sure you'll hear from him.

Cristin B said...

I'd love to vote, but the entire button thing seems to link only to the picture of the button and not to any actual good or bad vote...?

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Cristin,

This is new to me, too, and it's a bit confusing.

I think you have to click on the link in my post, and then you get to another set of thumbs up or down buttons. Clicking on the thumbs up counts as a vote.

THANK YOU!!

Sienna said...

Strewth, this is all fun, I voted (thumbs up yeah baby!) and then it went swirling into pink, and swirls and swirls....was getting dizzy...so left

This is funny your asking questions Hearts and this guy appears from cyberspace to answer...ask him if he has any chocolate willya? :)

The kittens are cute, piano Pam is looking at adopting from the www.narfrescue.org she's been showing me the orphans she has picked out..Angel baby, Lara, Millie...so gorgeous, we adopted a Lucy last month, she had been mistreated, fearful of guys wearing hats; my partner (bless him) has bonded beautifully-she adores him, it's wonderful to see the trust (and love) grow...Hearts I want those kittens!!

Pam

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Pam,

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

Mike is not just a guy from cyberspace - he's the man who sends emails asking to interview people, and is probably the head honcho there.

What blows my mind is that he seems to be monitoring all his interviewees. He's good. He's on it like a guardian angel.

The kittens are actually from Animalkind. My daughter takes in a lot of cats and fosters them along with her own, who are almost too numerous to count.

Aren't they adorable? I wish I could adopt all the homeless dogs and cats, wolves and horses out there.

Your partner is incredibly special. I already knew that. He may even deserve you.

omg, that pic just made me combust into a shower of rainbow colored grafitti and dancing butterflies.

even my boyfriend gushed...

molly said...

I clicked the thumbs up too. I hope you win and help those adorable kittens!

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Eastcoaster,

I loved your comment. Thank you so much!

Rachel,

Oh, no, not the dancing butterflies.

There is nothing cuter than baby animals.

Molly,

You're a sweetheart. It's unbelievable how many abandoned and abused animals there are in need of help.

Thank you.

That's right, so anyone who doesn't go vote for HeartinSF...you just killed one of those kittens. Just like God does every time you masturbate too.

Jo said...

Hearts, I over and voted for you yesterday, and left a comment there, and then, - silly me - I forgot to leave a comment here.

Old timer's disease.

Cheers,
Josie

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Reflective,

Oh, thank you so vewy, vewy much. And the widdle kitties thank you, too.

Jali,

Vote or die, oooh. I'm glad I have you on MY side.

Furious,

Yeah, but no pressure.

You fell for that, too, huh?

Josie,

I prefer to believe that my mind is so full that sometimes it just has to sit on the bench for awhile.

Good for you! Good interview too.

Open Grove Claudia said...

Good for you! Boy those cats are cute....

riseoutofme said...

A "thumbs up" from here for you, and the kitties, of course.

Mike said...

If you'd like to search for other blogs there is a Google search bar on the right sidebar near the bottom.

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Christina,

Thanks, Chica.

Claudia,

Aren't they the cat's meow?!

Riseout,

The kitties and I thank you.

Mike,

I found it - right where it was all along. Thanks again for your help.

Monty, thank you.

Meno,

Kitties rule.

Odat said...

Ok, going to vote now..but only because you put that cute kitten pic up...(kidding) I'd vote for you any day...oh and remind your readers that they can vote every day for you. I've been doing that for someone....
Peace

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Odat,

You are, as always, a fount of knowledge. I didn't know that it was allowed to vote Every Day for someone.

I thank you, and the kitties thank you, too.

Dan said...

Congratulations Heart!

Is this the charity that you are referring to?

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Dan,

Yes! My daughter, who is a writer, lives in Hudson and is very active in cat rescuing.

She has a large house full of foster cats, abandoned mamas and babies, participates in adoption drives, and devotes most of her time to Animalkind.

painted maypole said...

thanks for stopping by my blog!

OK< I cannot show that kitty picture to my husband, or he will start whining for another cat (poor, allergic, me. they are so cute and sweet, though!)

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Maypole,

Not showing them to your husband sounds like a good plan, considering.

Kittens are truly adorable, but not through teary eyes and sneezes.

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Maypole,

P.S. I really enjoyed your blog, and I'll be back.

Thanks for having me.

Kevin Charnas said...

you got it, homegirl.

And Hudson? Funny...Will and I were thinking of moving there.

So, where your daughter works, she's a chip off the ole block, huh? Not that you're a "block". ;)

I haven't forgotten that meme, by the way. I'm just a very good procrastinator.

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Kevin,

You'd love Hudson -- it's a beautiful, verdant place with great architecture.

All my children take in animals. It's in our genetic code.

As for the meme,
"It's been three years since I'm knockin' on your door,
And I still can knock some more."

thethinker said...

I just voted. (Vote number 17!)

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Thinker,

Very cool and thank you! Now if everyone would vote as many times as his number of years on the planet, I could win this thing.

Apparently, everyone's votes reset every month and start over, but Odat says that it's allowed to vote once a day.

I need another visit from Mike to clarify that.

Mike said...

That's correct. You are allowed to vote once a day.

You'll be know it's been 24 hours because it will let you vote again. If it doesn't let you vote then it hasn't been 24 hours. Pretty simple, eh?

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Mike,

As always and again, thank you.

LittlePea said...

You have successfully brainwashed me to do your will. I went , I read, I voted as you have requested. Just don't ask me to do dishes....

Hope you win, the kitties are so cute.

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Sweet Pea,

No dishes. I promise. Thank you so much. (Meow, meow, meow.)

Jansky T said...

You got a thumbs up from me.

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Thank you, Kevin! Much appreciated.

Parlancheq said...

I voted for you. Only partly because I am a sucker for kittens. Mostly because your blog rocks. :)

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Parlancheq,

I've missed you! And the kitties and I thank you for your vote.
