Proclamation

I just realized that today is my blog's one-year anniversary. I timidly put up my first post on June 13, 2006.

How time flies when you're having fun!

Cake will be served in the main rotunda, and you are all welcome.

Be there. (Yes, this means YOU.)

Hello? I'm here in the rotunda. Where are you?

Rhea,

I was abducted by aliens. Sorry I'm late.

Thank you for coming by. I hope you like cake.

My fork is poised, though I come with apologies. My gift will be late, I'm afraid. I looked up and down the aisles at my local hardware store and then gave up -- I didn't want to be late for the cake.

Happy One Year Anniversary!!!

A year, wow. Glad you started, keep it up.

Well, you should celebrate by printing out an archive of all your posts (without comments) and bind them.

Of course, copies would go to all of your faithful commenters. :)

Peace,

~Ch

Thomas,

Um, what kind of hardware did you have in mind? Don't get defensive, I love hardware stores. I was just wondering.

No present required, anyway. Have some bloody cake.

Voyager,

I'm glad, too. It's become my favorite addiction.

Chani,

But the comments are the best part. I put my posts out there and wait for the insightful, delightful and often hilarious comments to come in. I feel incomplete until they do.

Congratulations!

And how lucky are we that we have you to write for us, make us laugh, show us what's outside the box, and do it all with a snap of your fingers, and a flick of your wrist!

NICE!

Let's see another year.

Happy Blogday!

Oh... PS - would that be blood red velvet cake? or... uh, bloody cake?

hmm.

Congratulations, hope the aliens did not probe too much.

Please pass me another cup of tea. And maybe a bone or three for my hungry canines.

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Scarlett,

You are too kind. Thank you.

I really meant "have some frickin' cake," but didn't want to offend Thomas' tender sensibilities. You know how guys are.

And the cake is chocolate with mocha buttercream icing.

Wng,

Thank you! And welcome.

Is there a connection to be drawn by your showing up here for the first time when there are refreshments?

Hel,

It was awful. And the things they said about me cannot be repeated here.

I'm so glad you came over, and brought Arjun and Shanti with you.

I must arrange a large block of time to catch up on your blog. There is always so much to gaze upon and think about that a quick visit doesn't do it justice. Hopefully tonight.

Happy blog birthday! I just had my 200th post the other day - its a wonderful strange sense of achievement isnt it?

Yay! Happy Blogiversary! Mine's tomorrow.

EsLocura said...

what a wonderful thing your blog ... as for the cake, will there be party hats as well?

Happy Blogiversary! June was a good month last year. My blogiversary is coming up soon too. I'm pleased to have met you this year.

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Judith,

Congratulations on your 200th wonderful post! I should check and see what number I'm up to.

Atavist,

Well, of course it was. You were here.

Sweet Pea,

Really? Oh, my, we're practically twins. Congratulations in advance, and keep 'em coming.

Eslocura,

And snappers and balloons, especially balloons. Ice cream, and maybe a few rounds of pin-the-tail-on-the-donkey.

Meno,

And I, you. It seems much longer, though. You are one of my blog buddies who really feels like an old friend.

When is your day?

I'm there! Wonderful to see you, and you're looking marvellous. And congratulations on your one year. Especially fine cake. But, you always knew my weaknesses.
Cheers,
Ian

Woo Hoo!! Congrats! I started last June, too.

Happy Anniversary!!!! I've said it before, and I'll say it now. You're one of my favorites. Blogdom wouldn't be the same without you. Yay!!

Cheers! Here's to another year!!

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Ian,

I'm so happy you could make it.

The cake is an old family recipe; I had to torture several of my relatives to get it.

Scarlett,

Management is not responsible for injuries, but I'm sorry you fell down.

I hope you took a large slice home to Viaggiatore. I happen to know lions love cake.

Michael,

Woo hoo to you too!!

Another June baby. There must have been something in the air this time last year.

Lex,

And I've said it before as well -- YOU are one of my favorites.

Thanks for eating cake with me.

happpy blogging anniversary. think you're the heart I left in SF. will improve my english by reading your post. you must be an actress. an elusive one like Garbo but quite more articulate. thank you for the cake.

flutter said...

Oh crap, sorry I was in the foyer!

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Felipe,

Thank you for coming by. Garbo was one of my role models in elusiveness, also Katharine Hepburn.

Please do come back.

Flutter,

No, silly, the rotunda. The foyer has an ice cream sculpture, though, and some really kicking lollipops and kettle corn.

Jo said...

So, I'm here for my cake. Mmmmm Pavlova with strawberries and whipped cream. My favorite.

Happy bloggiversary.

Josie

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Josie,

I grew the strawberries and made the whipped cream myself. So glad you like it.

Virtual cake doth not virtual pounds add. Which is virtually excellent.

Happy One Year Bloggiversary!

June 26th. I plan to take the day off by publishing a re-run, which i will call "meno classic" :)

Happy Anniversary!

The home made sour cream chocolate cake with the home made sour cream chocolate icing was really too much, but the home-made ice cream was really over the top. I didn't know you had such skill.

A writer and a gourmet cook too! I am so glad that I met you!

heartinsanfrancisco said...

La Cubana,

Muchas gracias, muneca.

Meno,

It works for Charles M. Schulz, why not for you?

Of course, he's dead.

So June 26th is your blogiversary... We're getting up there, aren't we?

Ceo,

I learned to cook from Julia Child, you know.

She's dead, too.

Do we sense a trend here?

Congratulations from The Other Side of the World!

Lone Grey Squirrel said...

I'm obviously late and all I got was crumbs. Still, Congrats on your one year. As I said before, I thought you had been writing for much longer. Enjoy your posts very much.

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Dumdad,

Thank you! You are in a part of the world I love, and to which another visit is long overdue.

Squirrel,

No worries. I knew you'd show up so I saved you a piece. With nuts, of course.

Deb said...

Congrats on the one year! I think I've been reading you from day one......

Does that make me your oldest fan?

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Deb,

You and I go way back. You are definitely one of my first blog buds.

It's great that we've lasted so long. This may be one of my longest relationships. :)

Odat said...

Happy Blogaversary!!! Sorry I'm late...Did you save me some cake???
I'm so glad you began blogging..I always enjoy your stories! Thank you!
Peace

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Odat,

Of course I saved you some cake.

You are also one of my earliest virtual friends, and I still find your blog a happy place to visit.

Eastcoastdweller said...

I probably missed the whole party. But I will gladly eat even the stalest crumbs at this delightful place.

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Eastcoaster,

For you, there will be a new cake, as those stale crumbs went to the ants already.
