Blame

Claudia, the evil html genius at On a Limb with Claudia has created a new button, which may be the best invention since sliced bread. It's called the Blame Award. The possibilities are endless, people. Endless.

I see it as a kind of reverse Academy Award speech, in which we blame everyone in our lives for everything. How cool is that?

I am going to kick off the festivities by blaming all of you for my blog addiction. If you were not so incredibly smart, funny and fascinating, I could be having a life. I would not be hunched over my computer while entire days slip by, clicking on Just One More blog before I eat. Or shower. Or ANYTHING. But you are all of those things and more, and not likely to become any less so. What's a girl to do? Thank you, Claudia, for giving me the means to attach blame where it squarely belongs. So mwaaaaaahhhhh, everybody. This one's for YOU!

Blogging - the wicked addiction. I'll have to write a book..... Congratulations on your virgin blaming! Go ahead and add it to your blog awards. You deserve it!

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Claudia,

We could probably all write books if it weren't for the time spent blogging.

My virgin blaming was great. I will never know the pleasure of a post-blamitall cigarette, though.

Sigh.

I just added your award to my sidebar. Thanks!

EsLocura said...

it's great to get blamed for something I love to do. should I go stand in the corner now? (with my laptop, of course)

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Eslocura,

You could at least whine a little.

And to think, I have voted for you and the kittens three times now *and* made a comment (actually, you and Glamourpuss are my #1 reads, I need you both), and then YOU blame ME, who can't write worth chopped liver. HA. I am laughing so hard I could choke. Wait until I tell my wife this one.

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Monty,

I have it on very good authority that you can vote every day. For the kittens.

And you ain't no chopped chicken liver. I read you, and I'll have you know I'm very discriminating, especially when it comes to schmaltz.

Ha haa haaa..

My name is Pam and I'm a blog addict...

Trouble is this: I use your blog (Hearts, and Josie's) to work off the list of blogs (great writings everyone!) which is good, but sometimes I drift...and wander off to blogs I also love but lose my trail tooooo...shit!

There are some great places I have visited and cannot find again, I link onto *x* blog and link from there, sort of like sleeping around I guess? Not real virginal...I know, I know, I should just save down to favorites, well some I have but favorites here, crikey is stuff everywhere, my organisational skills are excellent at the last minute, but I haven't hit the last minute in blogworld...

Luvyamate.

I love the idea of a blame button. I could press it every time I screw up, and blame someone else. Which is not my fault.
HISF I finally answered your "ten things" tag. Sort of. I had some trouble with it!

Yeah, all those nice this and that awards can get a little cloying. Time to gleefully point an accusative finger!

This is my new favorite banner/award. I do love a culture of blame.

Not that I believe for a minute that you don't have a life!

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Pam,

Interesting comparison between blog hopping and sleeping around. I love the way your mind works. Fair dinkum.

We're all blogaholics. There must be a 12-Step program for this affliction, maybe in Hawaii or Malibu with Lindsay and Britney, but they probably take away your computer at the door.

Voyager,

I saw what you wrote. It was great!

It's never my fault, either. The blame button is going to make life so much better.

Eastcoaster,

Claudia rocks. She saw a need and invented what the world was waiting for.

Jocelyn,

I love it, too. Claudia is a clever girl.

From your lips to God's ear.

Adam,

There must be some mistake as I did not inquire of anyone about a diet. But thanks for the link, and for stopping by.

Even after all the neck and low spine fusions I still have big broad shoulders and since I get blamed for everything anyway; I may as well get blamed for blog addiction too. I can handle the extra load.

But in my own defense I already owned up to last years Texas ice storm but I DID NOT cause the tornado after it. That was normal atmospherics in play.

Peace

the walking man said...

Adam should get blamed for going off topic

riseoutofme said...

Walking man should get blamed for picking on Adam.

For all he knows, he might be smaller than him.

And thats not very nice.

Ian Lidster said...

I'll accept my ahare of the blame, darling, but only if you accept yours. You see, I wouldn't even know about this award if I hadn't felt compelled to come and visit you this morning. Anyway, congrats on this award and I too fully understand the obsessiveness of this blogging business.

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Walking man,

A real man takes the blame and keeps on truckin'.

Adam had a message to deliver, but he had the wrong house.

Riseout,

Adam just stopped by to ask directions. I think Walking Man told him where to go.

Ian (Darling,)

You should step lightly because YOUR blog is one of the worst offenders, prolific and really good stuff. I always get sucked into a vortex over there, reading.

Jo said...

Hearts, isn't blogging addictive? Of course, you are entirely to blame. Your blog is one of the best out there :-)

thailandchani said...

Perhaps I can blame other bloggers for my oversized bootie?

:)

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Josie,

Look who's talking. Sorry, Sweetie, I'm not buying it. Your blog is a regular logjam of failed intentions for me as I read on, and on...

Chani,

I don't see why not unless you read blogs standing up.

See, that's the beauty of it -- you can blame anyone for anything, with impunity. It's perfect.

Anonymous said...

I am obsessed and you are partly to blame. Wow, that felt good to say. Congrats on your award.

Eastcoastdweller said...

"Adam" visited my blog, too. He's a bot, a damned spambot, not a real blogger, and I predict that we will probably start to see more of them infesting blogworld as time goes on.

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Reflective,

Thanks, and the same to you!

Eastcoaster,

I removed the verification letters awhile ago because they were difficult for some to read. Still, I get spam so seldom that it's easier to just delete it when it's long or ugly.

Anonymous said...

That's it? That's all you are blaming?

What about those pesky, loud neighbors? And those oblivious and blind landscapers? And don't you have some crazy politicians? What about the gods of justice and truth? Oil companies? That's it?

Mermaid Melanie said...

ah the blame word. I will try to work it in!

thanks for the blame. :hugs:

Wanderlust Scarlett said...

THAT is priceless.
Best award I've seen yet.

How selfless of you to pass it along with kisses and pointy fingers to everyone else...

Still giggling wickedly...

Best award ever! Absolutely the best.
I am going to blame you for making me steal it, because you blamed me. And i think it's your fault that the laundry isn't done, and that it's raining too.

Take THAT!

Rachel said...

I blame everyone for saying all the things I want to say but can't, because now its all been said already.

Damn you all.

Congrats to you, hearts!

Maria said...

Thanks I love that one.. Blogging is definitely an addiction. I am always thinking about what I should write and wondering how all my blogging friends are doing!

All the best and congratulations on the award,
M

CS said...

When in doubt, blame someone else. Loudly and repeatedly. It's fun!

heartinsanfrancisco said...

David,

So many culprits, so little time.

I claim the right to attach blame forever for crimes committed whenever. Their names are legion.

Melanie,

You're welcome. It won't be hard to work in. Just don't discriminate. Blame everybody.

Scarlett,

I'm a very generous person. Selfless as the day is long. This, too, is your fault.

Meno,

Sorry about the laundry, and the rain. And for making you steal it.

I have so much to atone for.

Rachel,

I blame you for everything, too. Just so you know.

Maria,

Congratulations to you, too. Let she who is without blame throw the first stone.

Cs,

Absolutely. What goes around comes around, unless you move really fast.

Sienna said...

I blame YOU for writing such wonderful posts.

Take THAT!

*~*Cece*~* said...

I should kick the woman who got me into blogging. But I love her too much to cause bodily harm. lol

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Jali,

Ouch! You really know how to hurt a guy.

Cece,

Well, you can kick her, but I'd like to thank her for getting you into this mess.

Australians have a weird type of sense of humor...it may be to do with too much sun/booze/isolation from the rest of the world-whatever...*it just is*:

Today this happened..Some Ozzy comedians thought it would be fun to crash Georg Bush's security and dress up as Osama Bin Laden and visit him..(they decided to use Canadian Identification Pass's) ho hum...

*The Chaser boys in jail again

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just heard that today, they hired 3 cars, put Canadian ID on them, pretended they were a motorcade, and got through the security cordon.
They pulled up a couple of hundred yards from Bush's hotel. Seems nobody took much notice till one of them got out of the car dressed as Osama Bin Laden. They've been arrested. Again.*

Seriously, the fun hasn't started yet, this man may end up goodness knows where?!

He really pumps that mountain bike of his, rode around Sydney yesterday, those legs fair pedalling...had a BBQ lunch, told the cook to *fill the plate up* with Ozzy meat....and then asked to hear some Ozzy cowboy music....(Hearts he is cracking me up).

Pam

Unknown said...

Oh fun, fun, fun! I'm going to take this one and run with it! Check in later this afternoon to see what you've started (I'm going to blame it all on you!!!)

furiousBall said...

perfect image, for the blame image too. reminds me of that phrase, "point the finger of blame, there's four fingers pointing back at you."

Which is why i always point all fingers and look like i'm karate chopping someone when in actuallity i'm blaming them

Christina_the_wench said...

I humbly accept the blame and will strive to make you more addicted as time goes on.

*takes a bow*

molly said...

I would have to give a Blame award to my daughter Liz. It was she who introduced me to the world of blogging. I never knew it would be so addictive.....

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Pam,

Those guys were lucky they weren't shot. The sad thing is that George Bush wouldn't know Osama bin Laden if he came up and bit him in the butt.

We're all kind of hoping he decides to stay in Australia forever, so please y'all, make him really welcome.

Wng,

I'll be right there. See ya.

Furious,

Nothing wrong with karate chopping them, too, you know. Why limit yourself?

Christina,

Nice pledge. Since you're one of the worst offenders, it will be interesting to see what you come up with.

Molly,

My daughter Catie urged me to start a blog. I also had no idea it would be addictive, but it is and truth be told, I bless her every day for opening a world of really incredible people I've met in the blogosphere.

Odat said...

I love the Blame award too and intend to have my day of blame soon! ;-)

jbwritergirl said...

I recently had that tatooed on my ass. I'm proud to be blamed for everything but too embarrassed to admit it publicly.
JB

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Odat,

Now that I'd like to see! Can't wait.

JB,

Now you'll have to be really careful about who sees your ass. Care to post a picture?

Thank you for coming by.

If it weren't for addictive personalities, would we breath in and out...in and out...in and out...in and out...endlessly?

Liz Dwyer said...

Oh I like the Blame Award. Who can I blame for me eating too much sherbet? For waking up too late, for being too much of a romantic??? Oh well, I'm pointing the finger back at myself. :)

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Ohhh, Kilroy was here! Too cool.

You have some great pics on your blog. Thanks for visiting here.

Liz,

Oh, no, don't give up so easily. There must be Someone Else to blame for all that. Think. Think harder.

See? I knew you could.

urban-urchin said...

soon you will need a blog just to use as a trophy shelf for your awards!

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Urchin,

Funny! I display them mostly to honor those who gave them to me, but I wish some of them were smaller.

Anonymous said...

Aaaah, blame. So easy, so effortless. And me, I was raised Catholic (but got over it) so the guilt over your blame strikes deep and lasts longer than a 50 year old on a Viagra binge. Well played!

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Irrelephant,

I figured you were running out of guilt about now, so I'm happy to help you restock your larders.

Thanks for your visit.

Anonymous said...

You peeked at my Guiltometer, didn't you. For shame!

heartinsanfrancisco said...

Irrelephant,

Um, that's the whole point of guilt, to pin it on someone who preferably doesn't deserve it.
